The Japanese destroyer Akatsuki 1:700 is an injection-molded plastic kit in a waterline version from the manufacturer Tamiya, capturing a ship of the late subgroup of the special type of the Fubuki class.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:700 scale from the Waterline range. The model is done as a waterline version with a flat bottom and stands flat like a vessel on the water. In the package there are waterslide decals and several armament options.
The Akatsuki belonged to the late subgroup of the special type destroyers of the Fubuki class, for which a narrower forward funnel was characteristic. Ships of this class carried heavy gun and torpedo armament and high power. The Akatsuki was lost in the night fighting off Guadalcanal.
A waterline model needs no stand and suits being set straight onto a base or a model of the water surface. Separate the fine parts of the superstructure carefully and glue them with liquid cement for plastic; additional photo-etched railings will increase the effect. The hull is usually sprayed in the shade of Japanese naval gray, and final weathering and bringing out the panels will add depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
