A kit of the Soviet flotilla leader Tashkent in 1:700 scale, represented in her 1942 form.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tashkent was among the flotilla leaders of the destroyer force, that is, among the larger and faster destroyers meant to lead a group of smaller ships. The ship was built in an Italian yard and then served with the Soviet Navy in the Black Sea. She differed from the ordinary destroyers of her day in her slender hull and high speed. The year in the name sets the form in which the ship is represented in this kit.
This is a kit of a warship in 1:700 scale, that is, the scale in which a whole fleet can be built and displayed on one shelf. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The exact number of parts, the extent of the fittings and the recommended procedure are given in the instructions enclosed with the package.
In 1:700 scale the superstructures and fine items are very small, so sort the parts out in advance and glue them in small steps. Use cement made for plastic models and apply it in the tiniest amount, so that it does not run onto visible surfaces. The hull and the decks are more comfortable to paint before the superstructures go on. It pays to set the horizontal surfaces off from the vertical ones in shade, otherwise the model merges into one color.
The kit suits collectors of ship models and modelers who want to build one ship quickly and without taking up much room. The paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
