A resin set from the Czech manufacturer CMK that replaces the cockpit of a Douglas A-20 model in 1:72 scale. According to the name it covers the A-20G, H, K and J versions, that is including the machines known in British service as the Boston Mk.IV and Mk.V. Injection-molded kits in small scales tend to have the cockpit only roughly suggested; a cast set brings instrument panels, seats, levers and side consoles in a form that plastic cannot manage.
The Douglas A-20 was a twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft with Wright radial engines. The British used it under the name Boston on a number of fronts and the Soviet Union received it in large numbers. The A-20G version had a solid nose with fixed gun armament instead of the glazed navigator's position, which is the most conspicuous difference between the individual versions of the type.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surfaces. Paint and finish the cockpit before you close the fuselage up, because after that you can no longer get inside. Build the base from a dark shade, pull the edges out with a dry brush and apply a dark wash into the recesses. Represent the instruments with a drop of gloss varnish, which imitates the glass of the dial.
The set is an accessory to a kit and does not replace the kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
