A replacement ejection seat for a model of the American A-4 Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is made by Quickboost, the accessory range of the Czech company Aires, and the part is cast in resin. It is not a kit or an aircraft model: it is a detail accessory for a cockpit. The model, glue and paints are not in the package.
The seat has the safety belts cast directly in the part. That is a fundamental difference from the bare seat out of the box: you do not need a photo-etched set and you do not have to make the belts from strips of foil, and the result still looks realistic. The belts are not suggested by engraving; they have real volume and the carelessly thrown shape they have in an empty cockpit.
On the Skyhawk that matters exceptionally. It was a small light attack aircraft for carrier service, and you can really see into its well glazed cockpit. The seat is therefore the most conspicuous feature of the interior, and it is exactly the seat that tends to be simplified into a boxy block on plastic kits in 1:72.
For modelers who are building the Skyhawk in 1:72 and want a finished, convincing cockpit without the laborious making of belts. It is one of the fastest improvements there is: one part, one gluing, and the interior moves up a class at once.
