A set of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from Print Scale, the first part of the series devoted to the aces of the German Condor Legion. This is not a kit but sheets of decals transferred onto a finished model with water. The set brings personal and tactical markings of specific machines, among them Heinkel He 51 fighter biplanes.

The real subject

The Condor Legion was a German volunteer force committed in the Spanish Civil War on the Nationalist side. Its fighter pilots gained combat experience during that conflict; the Heinkel He 51 biplane was among the typical machines of the early phase. The set concentrates on the aircraft of its successful pilots.

How to use the decals

Cut the motif out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide it off the backing onto a surface prepared with a gloss varnish. Once dry, unify the surface with a matte or semi-gloss varnish. A decal softener makes seating on the fabric surfaces of a biplane easier.
