Tungsten steel scribing hook (push broach) - DSPIAE

This item is not a model and not a kit but a modeling tool, a push broach in tungsten steel from DSPIAE. It serves to scribe and to deepen the panel (engraved) lines on the surface of a model. Tungsten (carbide) steel keeps its edge longer than ordinary steel, so the cut stays clean and precise even after a long session.

Use

• Run the tip along the line, best with a guide template or tape, and deepen the engraved line gradually with light strokes.
• Scribe in two or three passes without pressure, so that the tool does not slip and the line stays straight.
• It suits the restoration of panel lines weakened by sanding and painting as well as the marking of new lines.
• After scribing, go over the line with fine abrasive paper or a sanding sponge so that the burrs disappear.

Who the tool is for

For modelers who want to emphasize or restore the panel work on aircraft, armored vehicles and other models. The thin tungsten steel tip copes even with a fine scale.

This is a standalone modeling tool. A model is not included in the package. Tungsten steel is hard but brittle, so avoid levering with it and do not break the tip.
