An air conditioning unit and a satellite dish in 1:72 scale are scenic accessories for modern dioramas. It is not a model kit but equipment for facades and roofs.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set belongs among the scenic accessories for dioramas and display scenes. It is not a kit of an aircraft or a vehicle — these are two types of object fitted to buildings: an outdoor air conditioning unit and a satellite dish. It is exactly these small things that move a generic building into a particular period and turn a scene into a modern town.
They come into their own most on the facades and roofs of town buildings in present-day scenes — with models of modern vehicles, in street dioramas and on background flats. In reality air conditioning units are hung below windows and on the back walls of houses, and satellite dishes on cornices, balconies and roofs; both usually in an irregular arrangement, which gives a scene liveliness. The accessory is not tied to a particular kit and suits any building in 1:72 scale.
After cutting them off the sprue gates, level the faces and degrease the surface. Air conditioning units tend to be light gray or white and satellite dishes white or gray; a matte shade looks more believable than a glossy one. Fine weathering adds credibility: light vertical streaks from running water under the unit, a gray or brown wash in the recesses of the grille and discreet scuffs on the edges. Point the dish in roughly the same direction on every piece — in reality they point at the same satellite and an observant viewer will notice. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and work in a well-ventilated room.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
