The set belongs to the animal sub-range Dynamo-Models carries under the designation Animals Serie. It is a diorama accessory for 1:72 scale, usable in 1:76 as well. It is not a model of a vehicle nor a terrain base - these are animals added to a finished scene as an element that brings it to life.
Rural country was the setting of a large part of the fighting and the movements of the twentieth century, and farm animals belonged to it inseparably. In a diorama they fill two functions at once. First, they give the viewer an immediate guide to scale: everyone knows the size of a cow, so beside it he reads the size of a vehicle or a building correctly too. Second, they shift the sense of the scene from the purely military toward the civilian, which tends to be more interesting than a scene made up only of vehicles and soldiers. A herd by a field track or animals in a pasture behind a fence can fill the empty areas of a base that would otherwise look unresolved.
In 1:72 a coat is not modeled by drawing hairs but by areas. Apply a thin undercoat, then the main tone of the coat, and paint the patches with a soft transition rather than a sharp edge. A thinned brown shade flowed under the belly and around the joints will give volume. Bring out the hooves and the muzzle with a darker tone. Settle the animals so that they do not all face the same way - a random turn of the heads looks more natural. Add the grass around the legs only after they are settled, so that the transition to the base disappears.
