The Buccaneer was originally created as a carrier aircraft for low-level attack over the sea. The S.2 version received a pair of Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines, which considerably increased both range and thrust compared with the original engines. The S.2B designation belongs to aircraft operated by the land-based air force, adapted to carry guided weapons and with a modified bomb bay. The type is characterized by its sturdy structure, a folding nose section, a rotating bomb bay door and the so-called tail airbrake, which opens out to the sides. It stayed in service until the 1990s.
Paint the cockpit and the instrument panels before you close the fuselage. The Buccaneer has many transitions between the fuselage and the engine nacelles — dry-fit the joints and fill any gaps with filler and sand them again. Decide in advance whether you will build the aircraft with the airbrake open and the bomb bay open, because the gluing sequence follows from that. Mask the glazing, spray the surfaces over a primer with an airbrush and blend the transitions between the gray and the dark shades smoothly. Apply the decals onto a gloss coat and finally unify the surface with a matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
