A vacuum-formed canopy for the Bücker Bü-181 Bestmann / Zlin Z-181 Basa in 1:72 scale. A clear replacement part for a more accurate cockpit glazing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory brings a clear vacuum-formed canopy for a model of the Bücker Bü-181 Bestmann trainer, built in Czechoslovakia as the Zlin Z-181 and known at home by the nickname Basa. It is a replacement cockpit glazing in 1:72 scale that makes the clear parts of the base kit more accurate and finer; it is not an airplane model but an improvement to one.
The Bücker Bü-181 Bestmann was a two-seat single-engine trainer and liaison aircraft of the late 1930s, widely used as a basic trainer. Production carried on at the works in Zlin as well, and after the war under the C-6 series designation for the Czechoslovak Air Force. The glasshouse cockpit with two seats one behind the other is characteristic of the type.
Cut the molding out with a sharp scalpel just above the scribed line and level the edges with fine sanding so that it seats on the fuselage. Gloss clear varnish deepens the transparency; glue it with PVA glue for canopies and mask the frame members before painting.
This is an accessory for more advanced modelers; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
