A 3D-printed kit of the early French Dewoitine P-3 glider in 1:72 scale from Peewit. It is a kit from 3D printing intended for experienced modelers, not conventional injection-molded plastic. The parts are printed, fine and fragile, with print supports that have to be removed carefully. Check the exact contents against the particular package.
The Dewoitine P-3 was a single-seat glider that first flew in 1923. It was designed by Émile Dewoitine and built with a wooden structure covered in fabric and plywood. One curiosity was the open pilot's seat set in the middle of the wing, with an opening in the covering for the pilot's head. Several machines went to Czechoslovakia, where they took part in the contests and flying meetings of the day.
First wash the printed parts to remove any resin residue and take the print supports off with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and sand carefully. Apply a primer to even out the surface and spray the colors with an airbrush in thin coats.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a 3D-printed kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
