A resin front air intake for the English Electric Lightning in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Quickboost (Aires) - an accurate replacement for the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin detail part for more experienced modelers, not an airplane model. The precisely cast front air intake replaces the plastic part from the kit of the British English Electric Lightning interceptor in 1:72 scale. The resin version holds a truer shape of the shock cone and a cleaner outline of the intake than injection-molded plastic can manage. The accessory is made by the Czech brand Quickboost (Aires).
The English Electric Lightning was a British supersonic interceptor of the late 1950s with the unusual arrangement of two engines stacked one above the other. A characteristic feature of the nose is the circular air intake with a central cone, which served as a shock cone and at the same time housed the aircraft radar antenna. It is exactly this prominent part of the aircraft that the part captures.
First wash the part in lukewarm water with a few drops of dish soap, so that any mold release residue disappears. Cut off the casting block with a saw or a knife, sand the surface and glue the part in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). When sanding resin, protect your airways with a respirator and work with extraction. Apply a primer before painting.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
