Quickboost correct ventral fin for the F-105 Thunderchief (1:72)

A resin detail accessory of the Quickboost brand, made by Aires, in 1:72 scale. This is not an aircraft model but a ventral fin with a faithful shape with which you replace the plastic part on the F-105 Thunderchief. The casting puts the outline right compared with the base kit.

The real subject

The Republic F-105 Thunderchief was an American single-engine supersonic fighter-bomber. Under the rear of the fuselage it had a ventral fin, which improved its directional stability at high speeds.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release residue off the part, carefully separate the casting block and bond it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Check the fit against the underside of the fuselage before gluing.
