An accessory set of exhaust nozzles for a model of the F-15E attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. It replaces the parts from the kit and deals with the most visible area of the tail.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15E is the two-seat strike version of the heavy F-15 fighter, made for attacks on ground targets in bad weather as well. It is powered by two turbofans, and the tail with its pair of exhaust nozzles is among its most conspicuous areas. On some aircraft the outer cover segments around the nozzles were removed in service, so the view of the tail differs from aircraft to aircraft.
The set replaces the exhaust nozzles of a 1:72 model. It brings more finely rendered segment edges and a deeper interior, which plastic parts usually lack. This is precisely where the viewer of a model looks most, so the difference shows even from a distance.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are bonded with super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little short of the part and sand off the rest. Wash and degrease the nozzles before painting. It is a good idea to spray the inside before the nozzles are seated in the fuselage, otherwise you will have trouble reaching it. Metallic shades and a slight hint of burnt colors toward the end of the nozzle move the result forward most; look for reference points in photographs of the particular aircraft.
The set is for modelers who are bothered by a shallow, coarse tail from the box and want to deal with it without making their own parts. The work is fairly short and the gain shows on the finished model at once, even without further reworking. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
