HAD models F-4 Phantom II patches and helmet markings in the miniature 1:72 scale — decals manage the detail that a brush can no longer match.
Responsibility details are not available.
In 1:72 scale the figure of an airman measures barely two and a half centimeters, and yet it can carry recognizable unit patches and a decorated helmet. This HAD models set brings motifs for the crews of the F-4 Phantom II aircraft in exactly this miniature size, where painting elements like these by hand practically does not come into question.
The two-man crews of Phantoms give a human dimension even to a small model. Figures with worked-out helmets will stand out in an open cockpit, in an airfield vignette at the ladder or as a miniature scene on a base beside a finished machine. It is precisely details like these that a viewer at a competition table notices first, and he will recognize from them that you have devoted extra care to a model.
With decals this small it holds doubly: a glossy base, sharp tweezers and patience. Separate the motif only after it has loosened perfectly from the backing, bring it into position on the figure with the tip of a damp brush and draw the surplus water off with a paper tissue. Fix it with a fine varnish according to the surface.
It proves itself to work over a light mat, on which the transparent edge of a decal is clearly visible, and to have a dish with clean water and a paper napkin to hand. Fix the figure with a piece of double-sided tape, so that it does not move under the pressure of the brush.
