A set of precisely die-cut self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the American North American F-86F Sabre jet fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit or a model — it is an accessory that makes it easier to paint the framing of the glazing and other small areas cleanly. The masks are stuck directly onto the parts, so the glazing frames get crisp straight edges without the laborious cutting of adhesive tape. Sets of this type usually also hold circular masks for the wheel rims, for a clean separation of the tire from the rim.
The North American F-86 Sabre was an American jet fighter with a swept wing, which made its name in the Korean War in dogfights with the opposing fighters. The F version was one of the most widespread and served with a number of air forces around the world. The Sabre is among the classics of 1950s jet aviation.
Carefully lift the mask from the backing with tweezers or the tip of a knife and lay it on a dry, degreased glazing surface. Press the edges down thoroughly, so that the paint does not run underneath. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, and pull the mask off before the coat has dried completely. On strongly curved shapes it helps to seal the edge with liquid mask.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
