Brengun 1:72 resin replacement wheels for the Vought F4U Corsair with a combined ribbed and diamond tread. An accessory for a plastic kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Resin wheels in 1:72 scale for a model of the carrier-based fighter Vought F4U Corsair. The combined pattern joins longitudinal ribs in the central part of the tread with a diamond structure at the sides. It is an aftermarket replacement for the plastic wheels from the kit: the model itself is not part of the package and is bought separately.
Aircraft in service received tires from various suppliers and the tread pattern therefore differed between machines of the same version. There are two ways to choose: either by a period photograph of the particular machine you are building, in which case the tread can also be traced on a shot of the landing gear while taxiing, or simply by which pattern reads better on the model. The combined tread is one of the most conspicuous, because two different structures meet in it and the play of light on the tread is more pronounced than with plain ribs.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting block off with a saw and level the contact surface wet. Sand with respiratory protection: resin dust does not belong in the lungs. Try the wheel dry in the landing gear leg before you reach for the cyanoacrylate; with both wheels, watch that the model stands level once it has dried and does not limp. Use dark gray for painting, separate the hub with a mask and draw the structure out with a light dry brush.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
