This detail set from the Czech manufacturer Quickboost (the Aires workshop) contains a resin ejection seat with faithfully modeled seat belts for F/A-18 Hornet models in 1:72 scale. The belts are cast as part of the resin item, so there is no assembling of tiny photo-etched buckles. The set is not a model in its own right but a replacement part that raises the detail of the cockpit.
The ejection seat is one of the most noticeable items in an open cockpit. A cast resin replacement offers sharper detail of the frame and the cushion than an ordinary plastic part, and thanks to the modeled belts the cockpit looks richer even with no further work.
Wash the part free of mold release agent residue and cut the casting block under the seat off with a fine saw. Glue the seat with super glue. Painting is easier over a dark base followed by dry brushing the edges; pick the belts out in a different shade. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The set contains the resin seat only. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
