Even in 1:72 the eye notices when a figure has only suggested palms. The package brings ten pairs of female hands in different positions, which is enough for a whole group of figures or for several attempts before you find the right gesture. The shapes are drawn more slenderly than on male subjects.
Small figures tend to be shaped in a simplified way, because a mold cannot hold finer detail. Printed resin gets around that limit and can capture even slender fingers. The result is a figure that is holding something, pointing at something or propping up a hip, instead of having limbs just alongside the body. In a scene with civilians that is a difference the viewer notices before the uniforms.
Prepare a mat with a light background on which you will not lose a small part, and work with tweezers. Make the cut with a new blade, because a blunt one would be more likely to crush a small part. Once glued, the joint only needs covering with a thin layer of filler. Apply the skin shade thinned, in two or three coats, otherwise the modeling of the knuckles disappears.
