A kit of a Fokker F series airliner in 1:72 scale. A high-wing monoplane with a large cantilever wing from the beginnings of scheduled air transport.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dutch brand Fokker used the letter F to designate a family of airliners that it built from the 1920s. They were high-wing monoplanes with a thick cantilever wing of wood and with a fuselage welded from steel tubing and covered with fabric. That arrangement was simple, light and reliable for its day, and so Fokker aircraft were among the mainstays of the first scheduled air routes in Europe and overseas. The high-set wing without struts gives them an unmistakable silhouette that you recognize at first glance.
The kit captures an aircraft of this family in 1:72 scale, that is in the most widespread scale for aircraft models. A high-wing monoplane with a large wing looks good in it even on its own on a shelf, and in a display case beside fighters of the same scale the difference between an airliner and a combat aircraft of the period is immediately apparent.
First dry-fit the main parts and look over the mating surfaces. On a high-wing monoplane a clean joint between wing and fuselage decides everything, because it is visible from above and is hard to correct once glued. Glue the clear parts of the cabin in place and mask them before you start spraying. Fabric surfaces will take only a very faint picking out of the ribs, otherwise the model looks rippled. The particular sequence and the recommended shades are in the manufacturer's instructions.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
