This set differs from typical combat collections: the figures are modeled in relaxed, resting poses away from firing activity, that is, in stances that suit a camp, a rest by the roadside or the background of a scene. An addition to the name is the designation of the elite companies, which in a line regiment formed its flanks and were set apart by details of dress. The material is soft plastic, the scale 1:72; the figures are unpainted and need no assembly.
The winter dress of French line infantry means a long greatcoat over the uniform, under which only the crossbelts, the knapsack and the headdress stay visible. The elite companies differed from the center companies of the regiment mainly in their epaulettes and the ornaments on the headdress, which in 1:72 scale are small surfaces that nevertheless place a figure at once. The rest of the equipment corresponds to the ordinary infantry of the day.
Resting poses make the most sense in relation to their surroundings; on their own in the middle of an open area they look empty. Stand them by an improvised fire, by a pyramid of stacked arms, by a wagon or by the wall of a building, so that they have a context. Before painting, remove the flash in the seams, wash the figures and apply a base primer, which with soft plastic decides the life of the paintwork. With the elite details help yourself with a magnifier and a brush with a short, well shaped tip. So that the group does not look like a military parade, leave small deviations in the shades of the greatcoats and dust the lower part of the clothing and the footwear lightly with a pigment in the color of the terrain. A final matte clear unifies the surface and protects the fine details.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, primer and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
