An injection-molded plastic kit of the Gotha P.60C-6 flying wing in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker AZ model. It is a new tooling; the box is molded in gray and clear plastic and contains a decal sheet for three marking options. The subject belongs to the so-called Luftwaffe 1946 projects, designs that stayed on the drawing boards and never flew, so even the proposed finishes have the character of period plans rather than of aircraft that actually flew.
The Gotha P.60 family grew out of the concept of a jet flying wing without a conventional fuselage or tail surfaces. The C-6 Raptor version was worked out as a high-altitude variant with a modified nose, into which special equipment was to go in place of armament; that went with the idea of a pressurized cockpit and a greater fuel load for flying at high altitude. The whole layout anticipated the postwar development of flying wings.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the seams on the wing leading edges carefully, as a clean edge is crucial on a flying wing. Apply primer before painting, which will reveal any imperfections. The large wing surfaces are ideal for an airbrush; mask the cockpit and the transparencies and finish them only after spraying. Bring out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
