A resin accessory from the Hungarian maker SBS Model for models of the Hawker Siddeley (BAe) Harrier GR.1/GR.3 in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a set of precisely cast landing gear wheels that will replace the simpler plastic parts from the kit. The casting offers a sharp detail of the hub as well as of the tire tread pattern.
The Harrier GR.1 and GR.3 were British ground-attack and reconnaissance aircraft with the ability to take off and land vertically and in a short distance. Thanks to the thrust vectoring of the Pegasus engine they became an icon of the RAF, and they were marked by a characteristic bicycle landing gear with outrigger wheels at the wingtips.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water. Cut the casting blocks off and sand the surfaces down with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the hub and the tire separately, and a light dusting with pigments comes in useful at the end. The set is intended for the Airfix kit.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
