An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli heavy armored personnel carrier Nagmashot in 1:72 scale from ACE. It is a short-run model; the package contains photo-etched parts, one-piece flexible tracks and decals for two Israeli versions. The model will be appreciated above all by collectors of modern Israeli ground equipment.
The Nagmashot is among the first modern heavy armored personnel carriers built on the hull of a retired tank: it uses the modified chassis of the Israeli version of the Centurion (Shot Kal). The heavy armor was meant to give the crew protection comparable with that of a tank while carrying infantry in exposed terrain. It entered service in the 1980s and became the predecessor of further Israeli heavy carriers.
With a short-run kit, test the parts dry first and clean them of flash. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish and paint the running gear and the tracks before closing the hull. For the Israeli look a uniform Sinai shade works well, with the details then accentuated by washes and dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
