A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive painting masks in fine Japanese washi tape (kabuki masks) for a plastic model of the Israeli fighter IAI Kfir in the C2 and C7 versions in 1:72 scale. It is not a model and not a part of an aircraft, but an aid for a clean coat on the glazing and other surfaces. The EXPERT version is the most complete level of the set: besides the outer cockpit masks it also contains masks for the seals of the frames and the inner side of the glazing, and further the other transparent parts and the wheels.

The real subject

The IAI Kfir is an Israeli supersonic fighter aircraft with a delta wing, derived from the French Dassault Mirage and fitted with an American engine and Israeli avionics. Characteristic are the canard foreplanes at the air intakes. The C2 and C7 versions are among the most widespread combat forms of this machine.

How to use the masks

• Clean and degrease the transparent parts and seat the mask precisely on the frames of the glazing.
• Press the edges down firmly so that paint cannot seep under them, then spray with an airbrush or a rattle can.
• Apply thin coats and lift the mask shortly after the paint has dried.
• The wheel masks make it possible to separate the tire from the hub cleanly.
