1:72 Lyže Wehrmacht – WW2

Wehrmacht skis, WW2 1:72, a resin accessory (Firma49)

This is a resin diorama accessory, not a kit. The set contains faithful miniatures of German military skis with poles from the Second World War period in 1:72 scale. It is made by resin 3D printing at the Czech maker Firma49 and serves to bring winter dioramas and vignettes to life.

The real subject

During the Second World War skis belonged to the equipment of the mountain and ski units of the Wehrmacht deployed in winter conditions, on the Eastern Front and in mountain regions. Wooden skis with bindings and poles were carried on vehicles, stored beside shelters or taken along by the soldiers themselves. The accessory captures individual skis as well as bundles tied together with poles.

Use and painting

• Wash the parts with lukewarm water and dish soap and cut the support blocks off carefully
• Glue them with cyanoacrylate
• Bring out the wood of the skis with brown glazes and the metal tips of the poles with a dark steel
• Suitable as equipment set aside beside vehicles or shelters, or in the hands of figures

Who the accessory is for

For builders of winter dioramas in 1:72 scale with a focus on German units of the Second World War.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin parts. Paints, glue and figures are not included in the package.
