A pair of resin blocks of unguided rockets ORO-57K in 1:72 scale will fill out the underwing pylons of Soviet jets of the nineteen-fifties.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds two pieces of the ORO-57K external block in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory for the pylons under the wing, not a machine in its own right. The castings belong to the group of parts Clear Prop Models releases for Soviet interceptors of the turn of the nineteen-fifties.
The abbreviation stands for a Soviet cylindrical pod for unguided rockets of 57 millimeter caliber. Fire from it came in salvoes and aiming was done with the whole aircraft, so it suited area targets on the ground as well as formations of bombers. The blocks were usually hung under the wing in pairs and belonged to the basic armament of Soviet frontline fighter machinery of that time. The pair in the package matches one complete load.
The parts are cast from resin, which brings several habits with it. First wash them in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the remains of the mold release agent disappear from the surface, otherwise the primer will not hold. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a cutter, never break it away, and do not inhale the sanding dust. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); ordinary cement for plastic does not work here. Before spraying it pays to go over the surface with a filler primer, which will reveal any bubbles.
