A photo-etched set for the Bell P-39D Airacobra and the Airacobra Mk.I in 1:72 scale is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. It refines the detail where plastic is not enough.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is an accessory set in etched sheet for a model of the American Bell P-39D Airacobra fighter and its British version, the Airacobra Mk.I, in 1:72 scale. The set is cut for one particular kit, the RS Models one, and the model itself is not included in the package. It is made by the Czech company Brengun.
With its engine behind the pilot and entry to the cockpit through side doors, the Airacobra is an aircraft on which detail cannot be hidden. The more of the cockpit that is visible, the more the scale thickness of the parts asserts itself, and that is exactly where photo-etched parts are at home. Metal sheet carries fine detail and after painting it reads more convincingly than a plastic substitute. The exact contents of the package are given on the packaging of the set; they are not stated here.
Stick to the rule that internal parts go into the model before the fuselage is closed. Keep the photo-etched fret together as long as you can and cut individual parts off it only at the moment you are going to glue them, or they will get lost. Bend exactly along the marked score line, usually toward the side the line is on. For painting it works well to spray a primer while the parts are still on the fret, but clean the gluing areas afterwards. Detail in the cockpit comes out after a fine wash and a dry brush on the edges.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and it is not a model kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
