This is a resin detail set from Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory containing accurate cast main landing gear wheels and masking film for spraying the tires and the hubs. The type B designation refers to a particular tire tread pattern.
The P-40 is an American single-engine fighter of the Second World War. The main landing gear wheels on this type came with several tread patterns, which the set distinguishes with the type B variant. Resin wheels tend to be more accurate than plastic ones, and the compression of the tire under the weight of the aircraft can be suggested on them better.
Wash the wheels to remove any mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks. Stick the masking film onto the wheel, spray the color of the tire and of the hub separately and peel the film off once dry. That leaves a clean transition between the rubber and the hub.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
