A resin detail set from the Czech maker CMK intended for improving the cockpit of a model of the Curtiss P-40B/C fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a standalone aircraft kit but a set of replacement parts with which you replace the simplified interior of a plastic kit. It typically includes a new cockpit tub with sidewalls, a seat, an instrument panel and further details. The target kit is the P-40B/C model from Airfix.
The Curtiss P-40 was an American fighter aircraft of the Second World War. The early P-40B and P-40C versions were made famous above all by the Flying Tigers (AVG) in China thanks to the characteristic shark mouth on the nose. A detailed interior raises the fidelity of an open cockpit.
Wash the resin parts clean of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the interior in the characteristic interior green and pick it out with a wash and a dry brush.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
