The real subject

The Rafale C is the single-seat version of the multirole combat aircraft of the French Air Force. For air days one machine is set aside every year to fly solo displays, and that one gets a striking finish valid only for the given season. This sheet captures the machine with the code 4-GL in its form for 2017. A model in such a scheme differs from a series aircraft in a gray finish at first glance and works on a shelf as a colorful counterpoint.

What the sheet contains

The decals are made for 1:72 scale and cover the display scheme described. The layout of the sheet and the extent of the additional markings are given by the enclosed instructions, in which you will also find the recommended shades of the base.

How the decals are applied

The sheet is a flat printed one, that is a wet decal. Under the decal belongs a smooth gloss varnish, on which the film does not go matte and no air is trapped beneath it. Soak the cut-out decal in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it begins to slide on the backing. Slide it into place on the moistened surface, fine-tune it with a soft brush and draw the water off with a tissue. In 1:72 scale the elements are smaller, so work rather one at a time and use tweezers with smooth jaws. Apply the softener in a thin layer and do not touch the decal until it is dry. Finally clear-coat the model so that the edges of the film disappear.
