This set brings an imitation of zimmerit in the waffle pattern for a plastic model of the German StuG III Ausf.G assault gun in 1:35 scale. Zimmerit was a paste-like anti-magnetic coating applied to vertical armored surfaces against magnetic charges. The waffle pattern is one of the variants of the texture that machines from certain plants received. The formed etched parts are stuck directly onto the surface of a model. It is an accessory, not a kit in its own right.
The StuG III Ausf.G was the most widespread German assault gun of the Second World War, on the chassis of the Panzer III tank, with a 75 mm gun in a low fixed casemate. The waffle texture of the zimmerit arose from a specific way of applying it and is an identifying feature of some machines. Zimmerit was applied roughly until the fall of 1944.
Separate the parts and lay them on the degreased surface of a model, gluing with cyanoacrylate glue. Mind the way the waffle pattern lines up between the individual areas. Once the parts are stuck down, go over the metal with a base coat. The texture will stand out after a wash and a dry brush have been applied.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
