The Soviet RDS-3 atomic bomb in 1:72 scale is a plastic kit of the bomb itself from Amodel. It is not a model of an aircraft but a technical addition to a display case.
Responsibility details are not available.
The subject of the kit is the RDS-3 bomb from the early generation of Soviet nuclear weapons, not an aircraft. The model is built and painted in the usual way like any plastic kit and will find its place in a display case beside aircraft models in 1:72 scale, or as a technical exhibit on its own. Amodel is a Ukrainian manufacturer, and its own catalog has long covered Soviet aviation and rocket technology, including a complete series of aerial bombs and guided missiles.
The RDS-3 followed on from the first Soviet nuclear devices and belongs to a development series from which the same manufacturer also offers models of the RDS-1, RDS-2, RDS-4 and RDS-6c. In design it is a charge in an aerodynamic bomb-shaped casing with stabilizing tail fins, adapted to be carried by a heavy bomber.
The joint between the two halves of the casing is what matters. Glue them with a thin plastic cement, fill the joint once it has dried and sand it flush, and only then apply the base color, which will reveal any remaining traces of scratches before the final coat fixes them in place. The large rounded surface calls for an airbrush; brush strokes would be visible on it. Try the tail fins dry and watch that they sit at right angles to each other when you glue them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
