1:72 Spitfire LF Mk.XVI is a set of photo-etched accessories for a plastic kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. Thin metal parts raise the level of detail where plastic runs into its limits.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aftermarket set of photo-etched parts in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Brengun. It serves as an accessory to the Sword 72052 plastic kit, which has to be obtained separately. Etched brass sheet can be made in thicknesses an injection mold cannot achieve, and it is therefore used wherever a simplified plastic part is too heavy at first glance.
The Spitfire Mk.XVI matched the airframe and armament of the Mk.IX but differed in its engine: it carried a V12 built under license in the United States. The LF designation again means tuning for low and medium altitudes. A large proportion of these machines had a lowered fuselage spine and a teardrop cockpit canopy, which markedly improved the pilot's view to the rear.
Super glue is handled differently on photo-etched parts than on plastic: squeeze a drop onto a piece of sheet metal or foil and pick it up with a pin; never glue straight from the tube. An excess immediately wicks between the parts and whitens the surroundings. If you need time to seat a part, use the thicker gel version; thin glues, by contrast, suit a capillary joint on parts already in place. Apply an accelerator sparingly, as it makes the joint brittle.
This is an accessory set, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
