Art Scale Spitfire Mk.Vb, a flexible foam mask 1:72 is a flexible foam mask for masking hard-to-reach and curved areas of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mask set in 1:72 scale from Art Scale using a flexible foam material (FOAM). Unlike flat paper masks, a foam mask can adapt to curved and broken shapes, which makes it suited for instance to the landing gear bays and other three-dimensional areas of a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb fighter, where flat tape is awkward to fit.
The Supermarine Spitfire is among the most famous fighters of the Second World War. The Mk.Vb version with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine carried the b type wing, with armament combining a pair of 20 mm cannon and four machine guns. The Mk.V was one of the most numerously built versions and served on many fronts.
Press the foam mask into the cavity being masked or lay it against a curved shape so that it fills the space tightly and keeps paint out. Then spray the surrounding area with an airbrush. The foam is flexible and can be shaped again and again, and after spraying you simply take it out. It is an ideal companion to paper masks for flat areas.
This is a masking aid, not a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
