An accessory set of exhaust nozzles for a model of the heavy Su-27 fighter in 1:72 scale. It replaces the plastic tail parts and brings a finer rendering of the segments.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Su-27 is a heavy twin-engine fighter, carried in NATO usage as the Flanker. The letter B in that designation belongs to the single-seat production version. The engines sit in separate nacelles far apart, with the load-bearing tunnel of the fuselage running between them, so both long nozzles show clearly on the tail from the side and from behind.
The set replaces the exhaust nozzles of a 1:72 model. The individual segments are rendered more finely and the interior is deeper than the kit parts allow. On this type the effect is pronounced, because the nozzles are long and stand out from the fuselage.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are bonded with super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little short of the part and sand off the rest, with particular care on the mating surfaces at the nacelles. Wash and degrease the nozzles before painting. Spray the inner surfaces before the set is seated in the fuselage. Apply metallic shades in a thin coat and compare the transitions at the end of the nozzle with photographs.
The set suits modelers who are building an Su-27 for display and want the tail to stand up to a close look. The work on the model is slight, because it concerns two separate assemblies, and it also suits modelers trying an accessory set for the first time. A sharp knife, abrasive paper and a moment to dry-fit the parts are enough. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
