A set of masking templates Su-35S in 1:72 scale from SX-Art in the double-sided version. It is not a model but an aid for spraying the framing of the glazing cleanly.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of self-adhesive masking templates, not a kit. The templates are cut precisely to the shape of the glazing and serve to produce crisp, straight framing of the cockpit canopy after spraying, without laborious covering with tape. The designation double-sided set means that the masks are prepared for the outer and the inner side of the clear parts, so the framing looks right when looking into the cockpit too.
The Sukhoi Su-35S is a single-seat multirole fighter derived from the Su-27 Flanker family. Compared with the original machine it has markedly reworked avionics, more powerful engines with thrust vectoring and a revised airframe structure. Characteristic is the large, broken-up cockpit canopy with prominent framing, and spraying that cleanly is among the most demanding steps on the model.
First wash the clear part in soapy water and let it dry perfectly, so that the masks hold. Take the templates off the sheet with pointed tweezers or a scalpel and press them down with a fingernail or a wooden stick, above all around the edge, which is where paint bleeds in most often. The area not covered is filled in with a piece of tape or with masking liquid. Spray in thin coats and from the edge of the mask into the surface, not against the edge. Take the masks off soon after drying, while the finish is still flexible, and pull at a sharp angle to the surface.
The set does not contain a model, paints or glue.
