A set of replacement exhaust stacks for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vc in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V was the most numerously built version of the whole line and carried the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine. Its exhaust gases left through short stacks brought out in a row on both sides of the engine cowling. The Mk.Vc subversion differed from the earlier aircraft in what is known as the universal wing, which allowed the armament to be made up according to the needs of the unit.
The exhausts sit in the most closely watched place on the model, right next to the propeller, and yet they tend to be among the first victims of simplification. In 1:72 scale there is also a row of them side by side on the cowling, so every inaccuracy is repeated six times on each side. The replacement parts bring this detail back into play without your having to drill out and reshape the kit stacks laboriously.
The parts are very small, so work on a light surface and with tweezers so that they do not get lost when cut off. Cut the surplus material and any production marks off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and choose the glue according to their material. Finally paint the exhausts in rusty brown tones with dark soot at the mouths, and carry the smoke stains back along the sides of the fuselage.
Paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
