The real subject

In the Second World War the bicycle was a common and inexpensive means of infantry transport. Cyclist units and ordinary soldiers used bicycles for quick, quiet movement, for carrying equipment and for liaison duties, especially in the rear and over less demanding terrain. Scenes like that give a diorama a more civilian, everyday atmosphere of the front.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut away the casting blocks and clean them up gently. Bond the resin with super glue; the thin parts of the bicycles and the handlebars are brittle, so handle them with care. A base of filler primer and painting with acrylics or oils, with the emphasis on uniforms, leather and the metal parts of the bicycles, is recommended.
