Injection-molded plastic kit of the shipborne anti-submarine helicopter Westland Lynx HAS.2 of the Royal Navy in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has finely engraved panel lines and riveting, a complete cockpit and interior and clear parts for the glazing. In the box there are plastic parts, clear parts and a decal sheet.
The Westland Lynx HAS.2 was the first naval version of the British multi-purpose Lynx helicopter built for the Royal Navy. In the anti-submarine role it carried two torpedoes or depth charges and a dipping sonar. The machine operated from the decks of frigates and destroyers against submarines and surface targets alike; the identifying features of the Lynx are its fixed wheeled landing gear and four-blade main rotor.
Assemble the rotor head with the four-blade main rotor and the tail rotor, and paint the cockpit and the interior before you close up the fuselage. Glue the clear glazing in place only after painting and mask the frames. Glue the landing gear, the anti-submarine armament and the small parts with thin cement for plastic applied drop by drop. A primer and an airbrushed dark gray naval camouflage are the way to go; a dark wash will bring the engraved lines to life and salt or dust effects will give the machine an in-service feel.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
