1:87 Mark IV Female is a model of the British heavy tank of the First World War in its machine gun version, in the railroad scale H0 from Hauler.

The Female is the machine gun version of the British Mark IV, and it stands alongside its Male counterpart from the same manufacturer and in the same scale. It is a model of a vehicle in its own right, not an accessory set. The 1:87 scale is at the same time railroad H0, so the model fits a modular scene, a flatcar and a place beside figures and buildings of that size with no recalculating at all.
The Mark IV had a rhomboid outline with a track running around the whole hull, which allowed it to cross wide trenches. The Female version carried machine guns in the side sponsons in place of guns; it was intended against infantry, whereas the Male dealt with fortified firing positions. The Female's sponsons were therefore narrower and the whole machine has a somewhat slimmer side silhouette, which you notice on the model the moment you stand it next to its counterpart.
Most of the work in this scale goes into the running gear and the flanks, because that is where the track runs around the whole outline. Put the model together dry first and confirm that the sponsons sit at the same height on both sides; asymmetry shows on a rhomboid silhouette at once. Glue in drops, not from the tube: in 1:87 an excess of glue will flood the detail faster than you can wipe it away. Apply the primer in a thin coat and rather in two passes. With the weathering, stay with a suggestion; mud on the underside of the track and a dry brush on the edges are enough, while a heavy wash would turn a small model into one uniform smudge.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
