Responsibility details are not available.
A resin collector's figure of a North American Blackfoot (Siksika) Indian warrior, 75 mm tall, from the Czech maker Black Dog. The figure is conceived as a stand-alone collector's piece to be assembled and painted; the larger 75 mm size offers room to work up the details of the clothing and the weapons. It is supplied unpainted.
The Blackfoot were one of the Plains tribes of the North American prairies and were renowned as able hunters and fighters. Their appearance is characterized by leather clothing decorated with fringes and beadwork, a feathered headdress and traditional weapons. The figure is a rewarding subject for painting natural materials – leather, feathers and tribal patterns – and ethnographic detail.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand the joints with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Bring out the leather and textile elements with acrylic paints and work up the shades and highlights; pick out the feathers, the beadwork and the tribal patterns with a fine brush, and a final toning with oils will add depth.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
