A plastic kit of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-5/A-6 Nachtjäger night fighter in 1:32 scale from Hobby 2000. The boxing combines the proven injection-molded Hasegawa plastic parts with quality Cartograf decals and masks for the glazing. The set brings the less usual night and home defense versions of the famous fighter. This is an injection-molded plastic model to be glued and painted.
The Fw 190 was among the best German fighters of the Second World War. The night variants A-5 and A-6 came about by converting day machines for fighting in the dark, among other things as part of the Wilde Sau free night fighter tactics. It was one of the most interesting and least usual forms of this aircraft. Exhaust flame dampers and other changes fundamentally altered both the silhouette and the tactics of its use; the crews operated in darkness against night raids over the territory of the Reich.
The large 1:32 scale rewards care, so it pays to work the cockpit and the engine compartment up in detail. The enclosed masks make crisp framing of the glazing easier. Night machines tended to have dark schemes on the undersides and the sides; depth comes from gently blending the shades with an airbrush, a final matte coat and restrained wear. Apply the decals over a gloss base. The small items of night equipment are prominent in this scale, so give them time, as it noticeably lifts the final impression.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
