Aber metal barrel for the 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 in 1:35 scale is a turned accessory for models of the Tiger II tank with the Henschel turret.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely turned metal barrel from Aber in 1:35 scale for models of the German Tiger II (Königstiger) heavy tank in the version with the Henschel turret. It is not a model but a replacement part that swaps the split plastic barrel on a finished kit for a single solid metal piece.
The 8.8 cm KwK 43 gun with its L/71 barrel was exceptionally powerful armament on the Tiger II and ranked among the most effective tank guns of the Second World War. The long, slender barrel with its muzzle brake is the dominant feature of the model, and even small inaccuracies show up on it.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the area, then glue the metal part on with cyanoacrylate glue. Turned metal gives a perfectly straight barrel with no lengthwise seam, so there is no filling and no sanding. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer for metal.
This is a metal accessory set, not the model itself. A matching kit is needed for the fitting and is not included in the package.
