A wall at the same time gives figures a reason to act: someone stands behind it, someone looks over it. Forty pieces are enough for a wall and for several smaller formations around it.
Lay the scene out so that the wall does not stand parallel to the edge of the base; a slight turn comes across more naturally and leads the eye into the composition. Sink the bottom course into the terrain and disguise the transition with dust or gravel. In color, start from a light concrete gray, darken the joints with a wash and bring the edges out with a dry brush. A sand setting calls for a light dusty touch, a European one for darker and damper tones. Fix it with a matte varnish and complete the scene with low vegetation.
