A plastic kit of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter in the A-6 version in 1:48 scale from the maker Hobby Boss. The A-6 version is easy to tell apart among the A-series Focke-Wulfs, so the model will please even modelers who have already built one of the earlier versions.
The Fw 190 was one of the best fighters of its generation and it differed from the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in its radial engine, its wide landing gear and its exceptional roll agility. The A-6 version came about as an answer to the American daylight raids by four-engine bombers: it was given a lightened wing of new design, which carried heavier cannon armament without the aircraft losing its agility. It was precisely this combination that made the A-series Focke-Wulfs feared opponents of the bomber formations over Germany.
Start with the cockpit and the engine, because once the fuselage is closed you will no longer reach them. The front of the aircraft is short and heavy, so check that the model does not sit down on its tail. German camouflage built on gray-blue shades stands out when fine panel lines and a light lightening of the surfaces are worked in between them. Lay down a gloss coat before the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
