A kit of the American twin-boom observation and light attack aircraft OV-10A Bronco in US Marine Corps configuration, 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The OV-10A Bronco is an American light attack and observation aircraft with an unmistakable silhouette: two tail booms, a short fuselage pod between them and a high-set wing with a pair of turboprop engines. The crew sits in tandem under extensive glazing that gives a view forward and downward, which is exactly where they need to look when directing air support. The machine was built to operate from short, unprepared strips close to the front.
The United States Marine Corps used the Bronco for forward air control, for reconnaissance and for light attack duties. The rear of the fuselage takes cargo, and under the fuselage there are short sponsons with racks. The US Marine Corps configuration is one of the most frequently built.
In 1:48 scale the span works out at about 25 cm, so the model fits an ordinary display case. The glazing of the cockpit takes the most work: mask carefully and put the masks on before spraying, because every run of paint shows on such a large area. The pair of tail booms calls for a check on alignment, so test fit the assembly dry and let it cure on a flat surface. Wash and degrease the model before painting.
Paints, glue, filler and masking material are not included, unless stated otherwise.
