An injection-molded plastic kit of a battleship of the First World War in 1:700 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM. The model captures the German battleship Kronprinz of the König class. The molds were made with modern technology and the box allows a build with a full hull as well as a waterline version. The exact contents and the marking schemes follow the instructions in it.
The Kronprinz was one of the four battleships of the König class of the Imperial German Navy. These ships carried their main artillery of 30.5 cm caliber in five twin turrets and formed the core of a battle squadron of the High Seas Fleet. The Kronprinz took part in the Battle of Jutland in 1916, the largest naval battle of the First World War. After the armistice was concluded the ships of this class were interned and in 1919 scuttled by their own crews at Scapa Flow.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Decide on a build with the full hull on a stand or on the waterline version. Glue the fine parts and the superstructures with feeling; the intricate artillery and the masts come out well after careful cleanup. Apply a primer before painting, best with an airbrush. Bring the gray period finish to life with discreet washes into the recesses and subtle accentuation of the edges with a dry brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
