An injection-molded plastic kit of the German bomber Junkers Ju 88 in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The box lets you build either the torpedo version A-17 or the bomber A-5. The model has engraved panel lines, a glasshouse cockpit, a detailed interior and the option of underwing stores depending on the version chosen. It is a rewarding build, suitable even for less experienced modelers.
The Ju 88 was one of the most versatile and most numerous German aircraft of the Second World War; it was built in many roles, from bomber through fighter to reconnaissance aircraft. The A-5 version proved itself as a classic bomber during the Battle of Britain and at the beginning of the campaign in the east. The A-17 version was a specialized torpedo carrier and became famous for attacks on Allied convoys heading for the Soviet Union, the notorious Convoy PQ-17 included.
Mask the extensive glasshouse cockpit glazing and paint it with an airbrush; finish the interior before you close the fuselage. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Choose the A-17 or the A-5 version by the underwing stores and the scheme. Paint the surfaces after spraying a primer, and a fine panel wash will bring out the engraved lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
