Injection-molded plastic kit of the heavy Boeing MH-47E SOA Chinook transport helicopter from Italeri in 1:72 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a large plastic kit with a pair of main rotors. For the exact package contents (the number of parts and decals), follow the enclosed instructions.
The MH-47E is a special version of the twin-rotor Chinook adapted for United States special operations forces (SOA, Special Operations Aviation). Compared with the ordinary CH-47 it has enlarged internal fuel tanks for long-range flights, an in-flight refueling probe, a terrain-following radar and advanced navigation and night avionics. It is used to insert and extract special forces deep in enemy territory, often in darkness and at low level.
On a large fuselage, glue and fill the halves carefully so that no seams show on the sides. Mask the cockpit glazing and paint it separately. Lay the base coat down over a primer, and a panel wash and light weathering will bring the dark operational gray to life. Fit both rotors and the landing gear only after the base coat; the long rotor blades need careful handling so that they do not bend.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
